Environmental Impact

Slate is naturally a green product and our process of quarrying slate keeps it green. We have been in the same quarries for generations; we use no chemicals in production. We recycle our water and the only waste we make is slate mud, which we use as fill. Our tailings are frequently used in river and stream bank stabilization because it is so clean. Larger slate blocks are used for wall building and even directly placed for bank stabilization, jetty building and other sensitive areas.
